Is there an admission fee?

Admission to the Homestead, Conservation Area, and Events is by donation. We thank you in advance for your generosity. All donations allows us to continue maintaining the 85 acre grounds and restoring O’Hara Mill to it’s past grandeur.


Are dogs allowed on the property?

Yes, we welcome you to bring your four legged friends. However, dogs must stay on their leash at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.


Is the Homestead property accessible?

is there parking on the premises?

Yes, our parking lot is at the end of our main entry laneway into the Homestead grounds. Parking is $5.00 a day or $50.00 annually. Exemptions include Event Days and if you have a booking with the O’Hara Volunteer Association.


Are there Washrooms on site?

Yes! Modern, accessible washrooms are available in the Visitors Centre during open hours. During our off season, Ladies and Gents outdoor toilets are situated just below the Log House. There is also a portable toilet (seasonal) in the main parking lot where the trail to the homestead starts.


Are food options available on the Homestead grounds?

Our Volunteer run food booth is open during major events. However, not on a daily basis. We encourage you to check out the culinary options available in Madoc, our local surrounding town by clicking here.


Can I rent O’Hara Mill for a private event?

Will I have access to WiFi?

At this point in time, we do not have WiFi access at the Homestead. We feel an afternoon at O’Hara offers our visitors a wonderful opportunity to disconnect, surround themselves with nature and appreciate life as it was in the past.


Is smoking allowed on the premises?

No. For the safety and comfort of everyone, as well as the protection of the grounds and facilities, we ask that visitors refrain from smoking anywhere at O'Hara Mill Homestead and Conservation Area. This includes vaping and marijuana.
