Securing a place for our past, in our future.

Our Mission is to Preserve, Procure, Promote and Prosper.

By encouraging the collective talents & visions of our volunteers, we are dedicated to conserving our vibrant historic homestead and sharing the depiction of pioneer rural life in Central Hastings during the 1800's with tourists and locals alike.

Indigenous Land Acknowledgment

“We respectfully acknowledge that O’Hara Mill Homestead is located on Michi Saagiig (Commonly referred to as Mississauga First Nations), Treaty 27 territory. Long before European and other settlers came to this area, these lands and waters were, and are today, the traditional lands of the Michi Saagiig, Anishinabek, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, and Haudenosaunee peoples.

We offer our gratitude to the First Nations for their care for, and teachings about, the land on which we learn, play, and explore. May we honour those teachings.”

Our grounds and trails are open year-round from dawn until dusk. During the Spring months, buildings are closed, with the exception of special events, facility rentals and education programs.

Admission to the Homestead, Conservation Area, and Events is by donation.

We Thank You in advance for your generosity.

All donations allow us to
continue maintaining the
100 acre grounds,
12 heritage buildings,
7 walking trails, and
restoring O’Hara Mill to it’s past grandeur, one project at a time.

Come Wander.
